Job Purpose
The Cashier will be responsible for handling daily cash transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring proper financial control. This role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to provide excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will perform the following duties:
- Ensure timely handover of cash sales to the finance department or bank
- Maintain strict control over petty cash and sales cash separately
- File invoices and cash memos daily
- Count cash in drawers at the start and end of shifts
- Issue receipts and maintain transaction records
- Answer customer queries and provide accurate information
- Ensure proper handling and security of cash at all times
Skills & Experience Requirements
Candidates applying for this role should meet the following criteria:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- 2–3 years of experience as a cashier
- Experience in operating cash registers
- Strong clerical and cash handling skills
- Good understanding of instructions and procedures
- Excellent customer service skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
