About the Role
The Receptionist position at GEMS Education is more than a traditional front-desk role. It combines customer service, administration, communication, and coordination to support the smooth daily operation of the school. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing accurate information to callers and visitors regarding school location, curriculum, admissions procedures, tours, and general school structure. This role directly supports admissions and marketing efforts by creating a positive first impression and capturing visitor and caller data for lead generation.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, the Receptionist will be expected to handle a wide range of tasks, including:

Welcoming visitors warmly and ensuring they receive appropriate guidance and assistance

Answering incoming telephone calls courteously and directing them to the correct staff members

Responding to general enquiries related to admissions, curriculum, tours, and school operations

Booking and coordinating school tours in line with admissions requirements

Maintaining accurate caller and visitor databases to track enquiry volumes and support marketing insights

Completing administrative and secretarial tasks to support the wider Front of House and admissions teams

Ensuring all GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct are followed consistently

Attending staff meetings and supporting committees or school events when required

Skills and Experience Required

Minimum one year of experience in a receptionist or customer service–focused role

Education and Compliance
