Job Overview
The Storekeeper is responsible for managing all inventory-related activities within the restaurant. This includes receiving goods, maintaining accurate stock records, ensuring proper storage, and coordinating closely with kitchen and support teams. The role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
As a Storekeeper, you will ensure that food items, beverages, kitchen equipment, and consumables are always available, properly stored, and compliant with hygiene and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, your main duties will include receiving, inspecting, and verifying all incoming goods to ensure accuracy and quality. You will be responsible for storing items according to hygiene, food handling, and safety standards while maintaining accurate daily records of stock movements such as receipts, issues, transfers, and returns.
Regular physical stock counts will be conducted, and any discrepancies must be reconciled with system records. You will work closely with kitchen, purchasing, and finance teams to ensure smooth daily operations. Monitoring minimum and maximum stock levels is essential, along with raising timely purchase requests to avoid shortages.
Additional responsibilities include managing proper labeling and expiry date tracking, preventing stock losses and wastage, maintaining cleanliness and organization of storage areas, and assisting during internal or external audits. Compliance with company policies, HACCP standards, and local food safety regulations is mandatory at all times.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must have 2 to 3 years of experience as a Storekeeper in a restaurant or F&B environment. A strong understanding of food and beverage inventory management systems is required, along with familiarity with kitchen operations, ingredients, and storage requirements.
Applicants should be comfortable working under pressure, possess good numerical and reporting skills, and have basic computer knowledge, including Excel and inventory or ERP systems. Strong attention to detail, accountability, and reliability are essential qualities for success in this role. Immediate availability is a strict requirement.
