Role Purpose
The primary purpose of the Junior Buyer role is to source non-contractual local purchases based on internal business requirements. The job holder is responsible not only for procurement execution but also for supplier coordination, data accuracy, and resolution of supplier non-conformance issues (NCRs). By managing transactional data efficiently and ensuring quality compliance, the Junior Buyer contributes directly to operational continuity and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities

Source non-contracted items from approved local suppliers based on departmental requisitions

Coordinate with internal stakeholders to confirm procurement needs, specifications, quality standards, and delivery timelines

Convert approved requisitions into purchase orders within agreed timelines

Monitor order progress and notify stakeholders of any delays or service-level deviations

Review supplier pricing, quotations, and product specifications to ensure best value for money

Follow ethical procurement practices, sustainability guidelines, and cost-control standards

Communicate with suppliers and internal teams regarding order changes, cancellations, or status updates

Raise and track Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for supplier discrepancies or quality issues

Follow up with suppliers to resolve shortages, delays, or non-compliance matters

Upload contracts, support e-auctions, and update procurement systems with accurate transactional data

Maintain complete procurement documentation for audit, reporting, and compliance purposes

Generate reports and update databases as required by management
Qualifications and Experience
Educational Qualifications

High School Certificate or Diploma (mandatory)

Qualification in Supply Chain Management or Procurement (preferred)
Work Experience

Minimum 2 years of experience in a procurement or sourcing environment

Practical exposure to purchase order processing and supplier coordination
