As the hotel continues to expand its operations, it is currently looking for a Storekeeper who can support its supply chain and inventory functions. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth flow of materials across all departments, from kitchens and bars to housekeeping and engineering.


About the Role

The Storekeeper at The Meydan Hotel plays a central role in managing inventory, overseeing stock movements, and ensuring that all received goods meet the hotel’s quality and safety standards. The position requires close coordination with purchasing, receiving, and cost control teams to ensure that supplies are properly stored, organized, and distributed on time.

A successful Storekeeper maintains meticulous records, follows strict hygiene guidelines, and supports operational efficiency by ensuring all goods are available when needed. This role has a direct impact on the hotel’s daily functions and service delivery.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

The Storekeeper is responsible for a wide range of operational tasks, including:

Inventory Management

  • Maintain stock levels based on approved par-stock guidelines.

  • Prepare purchase requisitions according to stock movement and requirements.

  • Receive items from the receiving clerk and verify deliveries against purchase orders.

  • Follow up with purchasing for delayed or incomplete deliveries.

Storage and Organization

  • Arrange items on shelves or pallets by category, using the FIFO method.

  • Remove plastic packaging and stack items properly.

  • Ensure all products are stored at the correct temperature.

  • Keep all store areas clean, organized, and compliant with hygiene standards.

Issuing and Requisition Handling

  • Issue supplies to departments upon receiving approved manual or electronic requisitions.

  • Modify, correct, and post requisitions when needed.

  • Coordinate with departments for special event requirements.

  • Post all store requisitions daily for accurate record-keeping.

Hygiene, Compliance & Cost Control

  • Assist the cost control team during monthly and annual stock-taking.

  • Ensure all items meet Dubai Municipality expiry-date guidelines.

  • Prepare reports on slow-moving, non-moving, and short-expiry items monthly.

  • Follow HACCP and internal hygiene standards at all times.

  • Report damages, shortages, or breakages promptly to the Store Manager.


Skills and Experience Required

Candidates applying for the Storekeeper position should have:

  • Previous experience in storekeeping or inventory roles, preferably in hospitality.

  • Familiarity with iScala inventory software (added advantage).

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Knowledge of HACCP and Dubai Municipality hygiene requirements.

  • Ability to coordinate across departments and manage special orders.

  • Accuracy in inventory reporting and preparing expiry reports.

  • Experience supporting stock-taking and cost-control processes.

  • Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.

  • Basic computer literacy for reporting and documentation.
