Key Responsibilities
In this role, the Pharmacist will undertake a diverse set of duties, including:
Dispensing & Clinical Assessment

Independently prepare and dispense prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) medications.

Review patient medication profiles to ensure suitability, correct dosing, and safe administration.

Provide treatment for minor ailments such as colds, coughs, and constipation without direct doctor instructions.

Dispense prescriptions from external clinics within the approved network.
Drug Therapy & Patient Counselling

Conduct drug therapy management by checking interactions, contraindications, dosage accuracy, and patient suitability.

Identify and correct prescribing errors to prevent complications and ensure patient safety.

Counsel patients and medical practitioners on drug usage, side effects, interactions, and recommended therapy.
Inventory, Storage & Loss Prevention

In collaboration with the Senior Pharmacist, manage adequate drug stocks and coordinate storage according to safety requirements.

Maintain precise record-keeping systems and ensure proper storage of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and vaccines.

Conduct audits, expiry checks, and implement improvements to minimise losses and improve cost efficiency.
Reporting, Research & Education

Record all medicines dispensed and update drug interaction databases and the Drug Formulary.

Participate in Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs and deliver presentations focusing on prescribing standards, communication, and cost management.
Qualification Requirements
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:

A degree in Pharmacy with a valid DHA license.

Experience working in a hospital pharmacy or community pharmacy setting.

Strong communication and customer service capabilities, especially in handling confidential medical information.
