Role Overview
The Cargo Handling Supervisor – Operational Safety is a critical link between ground operations, cargo planning, safety teams, and network stations. This position ensures that all operational activities—including cargo, courier, and mail handling—meet the highest safety, service, and compliance standards. Working within cargo terminals, hub operations, and the ramp, the supervisor is responsible for manpower planning, workflow coordination, staff supervision, and achieving operational targets, while also maintaining uninterrupted oversight of the Road Feeder Service (RFS) network control tower.
A core aspect of the role is ensuring maximum space utilization, on-time flight performance, and strict adherence to operational, safety, and security standards. The supervisor monitors ongoing tasks, distributes workload across shifts, and ensures smooth handover between 24×7 teams. Daily and weekly reporting, invoice verification, and operational audits also fall under this dynamic role.
Key Responsibilities
In this position, the supervisor plays an active role in strengthening safety awareness and compliance across the global network. Key responsibilities include:
1. Safety Campaigns & Training

Design and deliver safety campaigns, stand-downs, and promotional programs across network stations and partner service providers.

Enhance safety culture by building awareness and fostering continuous improvement.
2. Risk Assessment & Compliance

Conduct risk assessments at network stations to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with operational regulations.

Carry out urgent risk assessments for freighter operations to support uninterrupted workflow and protect flight safety.
3. Safety Action Follow-Up
-
Work closely with safety specialists to review pending action items, collect evidence from stations, and ensure timely closure of risks.

Support the team in monitoring safety recommendations and operational updates.
4. Safety Data Management

Maintain dashboards and operational safety data with accuracy.

Analyze incident and trend data, escalate concerns, and share insights with senior management.

Review and update safety action group and safety board documents to ensure accurate reporting.
5. Cargo Operations Oversight

Supervise daily flight planning, optimization, and operational workflow.

Monitor cargo space usage to maximize efficiency and unit load device (ULD) management.

Ensure all services meet stringent aviation safety and cargo handling guidelines.
Qualifications & Skills Required
To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Minimum education: 12 years of schooling.

Experience: 2+ years in the aviation industry.

Strong understanding of aviation safety, cargo processes, and ground operations.

Skilled in handling Dangerous Goods, Live Animals, ULDs, and GDP compliance.

Ability to analyze safety incidents and interpret trend data.

Experience in cargo rating, load planning, and stock control.
-
UAE driving licence preferred.
-
Completion of advanced cargo-related courses is an advantage.
