Role Overview
As a Junior Accountant in the Revenue Recognition and Interline team, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely accounting of passenger revenue, interline transactions, and related financial processes. The role involves handling accounting exceptions, reconciliations, audits, and invoicing while maintaining compliance with approved standards and procedures. You will work closely with internal departments and external partners to resolve discrepancies and improve financial reporting quality.
Key Responsibilities

Process revenue accounting transactions in line with approved ISO standards and internal procedures

Generate financial entries, invoices, billing memos, credit notes, and credit memos

Identify, analyze, and resolve proration, tax, fare, and revenue accounting exceptions
-
Perform passenger flown accounting, including amending fare construction strings as per IATA standards
-
Handle proration and tax exceptions using the RAPID system
-
Conduct yield and fare checks to validate system-calculated net prorate values
-
Reconcile sales, interline, and revenue-related clearing accounts on a regular basis
-
Generate accounting entries for provisions, accruals, reversals, revenue recognition, and exchange differences
-
Audit inward-billed invoices and credit notes after cost centre approval and raise rejections when required
-
Support supervisors during pre- and post-closing accounting activities and assist with ad-hoc tasks

Respond to internal and external stakeholder queries and escalate settlement delays when necessary
Qualifications and Skills

Minimum 3 years of experience in finance or insurance accounting

Educational background in Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred

Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills
-
Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment

Working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoint

Knowledge of passenger revenue accounting, fare revenue protection, refunds, and revenue master management

Familiarity with airline fares, ticketing processes, and IATA standards

Experience with Global Distribution Systems (GDS) and advanced fare structures is an advantage

Strong written and verbal communication skills
