Role Purpose
The Retail Warehouse Helper plays a vital role in ensuring that daily warehouse activities run smoothly. This includes receiving goods, checking items, sorting stock, picking orders, packing items accurately, and dispatching shipments to various store locations. The role also involves maintaining warehouse hygiene, supporting inventory accuracy, and following safety standards. Reporting directly to the Warehouse Supervisor, the Warehouse Helper contributes significantly to operational efficiency and timely stock availability.
Key Responsibilities
Receiving & Inbound Operations

Assist in unloading goods from suppliers and transport vehicles.

Verify item quantities and physical conditions, reporting discrepancies immediately.

Label, sort, and store items correctly in designated areas.

Support proper documentation and filing of receiving reports.
Picking, Packing & Outbound Operations

Pick items accurately for store requisitions, online orders, and transfers.
-
Pack products securely to prevent damage during transport.
-
Assist in staging and loading outbound shipments based on delivery schedules.

Support timely replenishment of store orders.
Inventory Management

Participate in daily, weekly, monthly, and annual stock counts.

Maintain warehouse cleanliness and organized shelving.

Report stock shortages, excesses, or damages to the Warehouse Supervisor.

Follow FIFO/FEFO and proper stock rotation procedures.
Warehouse Housekeeping & Safety

Keep the warehouse clean, safe, and obstruction-free.

Use equipment such as pallet jacks, trolleys, ladders, and scanners safely.

Follow PPE rules, fire safety guidelines, and equipment handling protocols.

Report safety hazards or incidents immediately.
Supporting the Warehouse Supervisor

Carry out assigned tasks based on daily operational priorities.

Assist in improving storage layout and optimizing warehouse space.

Support continuous process improvements and workflow enhancements.
Candidate Requirements

High school certificate or equivalent (preferred).
-
1+ year of experience in warehouse, logistics, or retail operations.

Basic understanding of warehouse workflows.

Ability to lift and move heavy items safely.

Strong teamwork and communication skills.
-
Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.

Good attention to detail and accuracy.

Physically fit, reliable, and punctual.
